Christmas Shipping Deadlines 2026

Pick your route and see every carrier’s published last day to send, with the days left from today.

Ground transit-day calculator (UPS, FedEx)

UPS Ground and FedEx Ground have no single national deadline — it depends on the ZIP-to-ZIP transit time. Enter the transit days the carrier shows you.

Estimates for planning only. Always confirm details with the carrier, retailer or organiser.

How to read these dates

Every date in the table is the carrier’s own published recommendation for the 2026 holiday season, copied from the pages listed under Sources. They are recommended last send dates, not delivery guarantees. A service that is nominally “two-day” can still miss when weather, volume or a missed pickup intervenes, so treat the final days before each date as risky and ship earlier whenever you can.

The “time left” column compares each date with your device’s clock. Because the page runs in your browser, nothing about your route is sent anywhere. If you want to preview how the table looks later in the season, add ?today=2026-12-10 to the address.

What each country’s dates mean

  • United States: USPS gives dates for delivery before December 25. UPS and FedEx publish dates for delivery by Thursday, December 24, because they do not deliver on Christmas Day. Ground services depend on distance, so use the transit-day calculator.
  • United Kingdom: Royal Mail and Parcelforce list last posting dates by service for inland delivery. Royal Mail has not published country-by-country international dates; check its Country Guides.
  • Canada: Canada Post dates depend on whether the parcel is local, regional or national and apply between major urban centres.
  • Australia: Australia Post publishes a full metro-to-metro Parcel Post grid by state, an Express Post rule, and international dates by destination. Over-the-counter items must be lodged by 2:30pm.

Tips for beating the deadline

  1. Buy online before you pack. Printing a label at home avoids queues, and tracked services let you prove when you sent it.
  2. Add a day for rural addresses. The published dates assume major cities.
  3. Ship gifts separately from other items. Orders from retailers have their own cut-off dates; check them at checkout.
  4. Keep the receipt and tracking number until the parcel arrives — you need them for any claim.
  5. Plan a backup. If you miss a date, a gift card sent by email or a promise-note with a late gift is better than a parcel that arrives on December 28 with no warning.

Frequently asked questions

What is the last day to ship for Christmas 2026 in the US?

USPS recommends Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail by December 17, Priority Mail by December 18 and Priority Mail Express by December 19 for delivery before December 25. UPS and FedEx express services run to December 21–23 for delivery by December 24.

Are these dates guaranteed?

No. They are the carriers’ recommended dates. Weather, volume and address issues can still delay a parcel, so ship earlier if possible.

Does the tool store my route or location?

No. It runs in your browser and compares carrier dates with your device clock. Nothing you choose is sent to a server.
